Xiayi County is located in the eastern part of Henan Province, China, under the jurisdiction of Shangqiu City, and is situated at the junction of four provinces, Henan, Shandong, Suzhou and Anhui. It has a total area of 1,481 square kilometers and a population of about 1.2 million. As an important part of the North China Plain, Xiayi has a flat terrain and a warm-temperate monsoon climate, with rich agricultural resources, making it one of the most important grain production bases in China.
Xiayi has a long history and is one of the important birthplaces of Chinese civilization. According to historical records, this place is the ancestral seat of Confucius, and is known as "the hometown of Confucius". There are historical and cultural relics in the county, such as the ruins of Tianlong Lake and the ancestral temple of Confucius. Xiayi is also the hometown of longevity in China, with unique folk culture and intangible cultural heritage.
Xiayi's economy is based on agriculture, mainly producing wheat, corn and other grain crops, while developing textile and food processing industries. In recent years, it has actively promoted the development of modern agriculture and rural tourism, and formed a characteristic agricultural product processing industry chain. The transportation is convenient, with Lianhuo Expressway and National Highway 310 passing through the city, and about 50 kilometers away from Shangqiu Airport.
