Xianning is a prefecture-level city under the jurisdiction of Hubei Province, located in central China, on the south bank of the middle reaches of the Yangtze River, famous for its hot springs, osmanthus flowers and bamboo sea. With a total area of about 9,861 square kilometers and a population of about 2.5 million, the city has a subtropical monsoon climate with four distinct seasons.
