Xiangqiao, Guangdong, China: The Cultural Core of Chaozhou

Xiangqiao is not an independent country, but a municipal district of Chaozhou City, Guangdong Province, China, the political, economic and cultural center of Chaozhou. The district is named after Guangji Bridge (commonly known as Xiangzi Bridge), one of the Four Great Ancient Bridges of China, and is the birthplace and representative area of Chaozhou culture.
