Xiangcheng District is a part of Suzhou City, Jiangsu Province, China, located in the core area of the Yangtze River Delta, and is an important modern urban area of Suzhou. With a total area of 489 square kilometers and a resident population of about 890,000, the area has a history of 2,500 years and was named after Wu Zixu, a minister of the state of Wu during the Spring and Autumn Period, who "tasted the water in Xiangtu".
Xiangcheng District is close to Suzhou High-speed Railway North Station and only 23 minutes away from Shanghai Hongqiao Hub by high-speed train. As the main carrying area of Suzhou's digital economy, it has formed three leading industries, namely, intelligent manufacturing, digital economy, and cultural creativity, and introduced R&D centers of leading enterprises such as Huawei and Jingdong, etc. The GDP of the area will reach 108 billion yuan in 2022, with an average annual growth rate of more than 7%.
There are cultural landmarks such as the Royal Kiln Gold Brick Museum and Sun Wu Memorial Park in the area, and Yangcheng Lake Ecological Leisure Tourism Resort is famous for its "clear water hairy crabs". The annual China Suzhou Yangcheng Lake Hairy Crab Food Festival attracts more than one million tourists, and Xiangcheng has become an important eco-tourism destination in the Yangtze River Delta region.
