Wuchai County is located in the northwestern part of Shanxi Province, China, belonging to Xinzhou City, located in the junction of Jin, Shaanxi and Mongolia, with an average altitude of about 1400 meters, belonging to the temperate continental climate. The county is predominantly agricultural, producing potatoes, oats and small grains, and is known as the "Granary of Shanxi". Wuchai is also rich in coal resources, an important part of the regional energy economy.
Wuchai County has a unique natural landscape, with the Guanrain Mountain National Forest Park and Luye Mountain Nature Reserve located here, famous for its pristine forests, alpine meadows, and rare flora and fauna.
