The Old Town of Henan refers to the ancient cities in Henan Province, an important birthplace of Chinese civilization. As one of the eight ancient capitals of China, Henan Province accounts for four of them (Luoyang, Kaifeng, Anyang and Zhengzhou), and there are still historical imprints such as the ruins of the Shang Dynasty and the Zhou Dynasty, the walls of the Tang and Song dynasties, and the residences of the Ming and Qing dynasties in the streets of the Old Town. Luoyang's Tianjie (Heavenly Street) witnessed the coming of ten thousand nations during the Sui and Tang dynasties, Kaifeng's Zhouqiao (Bridge) carries memories of the prosperity of Tokyo in the Northern Song Dynasty, and Anyang's Yinxu (Yin Ruins) gave birth to China's earliest matured written language - oracle bone inscriptions. -The Yin Ruins in Anyang nurtured the earliest mature writing in China, the oracle bone script. These old cities not only preserve tangible cultural heritages such as ancient city walls, bell and drum towers, and Wenfeng Pagoda, but also carry on intangible cultural heritages such as Yu Opera, woodblock prints of Zhuxianzhen, and Shaolin Kungfu, making them living museums for touching the history of the Central Plains, and perceiving the lineage of the Chinese culture, and attracting the attention of people from all over the world who are searching for the roots of civilization.
