Wuling is located in the northwestern part of China's Hunan Province and is the core area of Zhangjiajie City, known for the World Natural Heritage Wulingyuan Scenic Spot. This area, which covers the Zhangjiajie National Forest Park and Suoxiyu Nature Reserve, is listed as a UNESCO World Geopark for its unique quartz sandstone peak forest landscape.
