Wulian County is located in the southeastern part of Shandong Province, China, belonging to Rizhao City, and is situated in the low-mountain hilly area of southeast Lu on the coast of the Yellow Sea. The county is named after the famous Wulian Mountain in its territory, which is a national key ecological function area and tourist attraction. With a total area of about 1443 square kilometers and a population of about 510,000, it is dominated by Han Chinese, and its dialect is Jiao Liao official language.
Wulian County is famous for "mountains and sea, ecological livability". Wulian Mountain is a national scenic spot, famous for its strange peaks, stone carvings and Buddhist culture, and Jiu Xian Mountain, known as the "two best". There are natural landscapes such as Longtan Canyon and 10,000 mu of azalea gardens, and the forest coverage rate is over 50%. It is rich in agricultural products such as apples and cherries, and is known as "the hometown of green tea in the north".
The economy is dominated by agriculture, tourism and green industry, with stone processing and machinery manufacturing as the traditional advantageous industries. The local culture is a blend of Qilu farming traditions and oceanic characteristics, and Wulian paper-cutting and Mao cavity opera have been listed as intangible cultural heritage. The transportation is convenient, 40 kilometers from Rizhao Port, with Jiaoxin Railway and Shenhai Highway passing through the city.
Sevan is a small town in the Armenian province of Gegharkunik, located in the eastern part of the country on the shores of Lake Sevan, about 66 kilometers from the capital city of Yerevan. The town is famous for its eponymous alpine lake, Lake Sevan, one of the largest freshwater lakes in Eurasia, at an altitude of about 1,900 meters above sea level, which is known as the "Pearl of Armenia".
Lake Sevan is surrounded by magnificent landscapes and crystal clear waters, making it an important tourist and recreational destination in Armenia. The town boasts historical monuments such as the Sevan Monastery, a 9th-century monastery situated on a peninsula overlooking the lake, which attracts many tourists and pilgrims. The local economy is based on fishing, tourism and agriculture, and the climate is cool enough for summer vacations.
With a population of around 20,000, the town of Sevan retains its traditional Armenian culture, while the infrastructure is constantly being improved to provide accommodation and catering services. It is an ideal starting point for exploring the nature and history of the Caucasus and is easily accessible for short trips.
