Wuding County is located in the north of central Yunnan Province, Chuxiong Yi Autonomous Prefecture, located in the northern part of the central Yunnan plateau, is an important node connecting Kunming with Sichuan and Yunnan. It has the reputation of "the first mountain in Southwest China", Lion Mountain, with ancient trees and temples in the mountains, especially the most famous Zhenxiu Zen Temple, which is said to be the place where Emperor Jianwen of the Ming Dynasty became a monk. Wuding is also an area inhabited by the Yi ethnic group, where rich ethnic flavors mingle. Traditional activities such as the Torch Festival and the Yi Left Foot Dance are unique, and the costumes, embroidery and Yi cuisine (such as Wuding Chicken) are unforgettable.
