Located in the Podlaskie voivodship in northeastern Poland, near the Belarusian border, Wojponie is a quiet border town of about 2,000 people. Founded in the 15th century, it was historically an important trading post between the Grand Duchy of Lithuania and the Kingdom of Poland, and its name derives from the Old Polish word for "place of battle", reflecting the military status of the border region in the Middle Ages.
Wlodzepony is situated on the banks of the Biebrza River and is surrounded by the Knashen Forest, one of the last pristine lowland forest ecosystems in Europe. The town retains the 18th century wooden church of St. Michael and the ruins of WWII fortifications. The Border Culture Festival, held every summer, attracts visitors to experience traditional Polish-Belarusian music and crafts. The neighboring Biebrza National Park is a bird-watching destination, home to more than 200 species of birds.
The local economy is based on forestry and eco-tourism, and is home to one of the oldest amber-processing workshops in Poland. The city of Białystok can be connected via the S19 highway (1.5 hours by car), about 250 kilometers from Warsaw. Due to its location on the eastern border of the European Union and the presence of Polish border guards in the town, cross-border trade is limited but is gradually being opened up under the New Silk Road initiative.
Ziliujing District, located in the south of Sichuan Province, is a municipal district of Zigong City, named after the ancient salt wells that flowed from the city, and is known as the core area of the "Millennium Salt Capital". As the birthplace of Zigong's salt industry, Ziliujing District retains the former site of salt merchants in the Qing Dynasty, and the site of the Tianche (derrick) and other industrial cultural heritages, which have witnessed the glorious history of well salt mining in the BaShu region. The Zigong Dinosaur Museum in the district is one of the world's three major dinosaur site museums, treasuring a large number of complete dinosaur fossils, while the Zigong International Dinosaur Lantern Festival is a national intangible cultural heritage, known at home and abroad for its grand scale and exquisite craftsmanship. Nowadays, Ziliujing District integrates salt culture, dinosaur culture and folk culture, becoming a cultural tourism destination integrating history exploration, science popularization study and folk experience, attracting tourists from all over the world to explore the unique charm of "Salt Dragon Lantern".
