Weevold (Weesp) is a historic city in the Dutch province of North Holland, located about 15 kilometers southeast of Amsterdam, next to the Amstel River. The city, known for its well-preserved 17th- and 18th-century architecture, old fortifications and windmills, was officially incorporated into the City of Amsterdam in 2019 as its eighth district.
Werwald has more than 750 years of founding history, and the city center is listed as a nationally protected heritage site.
