Vishneva (Вішнёва) is a small town in the Minsk Oblast of Belarus, located about 15 kilometers north of the capital, Minsk, and is an important part of the Minsk metropolitan area. With a population of about 12,000, the town is known for its peaceful suburban environment and convenient transportation location, making it an ideal place to live for many workers in Minsk. Vishneva has a well-developed infrastructure, including schools, hospitals and commercial facilities, and is surrounded by forests and farmland in a pleasant natural environment. Historically, the area has been documented as far back as the 16th century, and today is a unique blend of Soviet-era architecture and modern residential neighborhoods, presenting a distinctive Eastern European townscape. As a satellite town of Minsk, Vishneva plays an important commuter and residential role in the urbanization of Belarus.
