Located on the island of St. John in the U.S. Virgin Islands, Virgin Islands National Park covers approximately 60 percent of the island and is one of the most pristine nature preserves in the Caribbean. Known as "Paradise Bay" for its crystal clear turquoise waters, long white sandy beaches and rich coral reef ecosystems, the park's signature attraction, Trunk Bay, features an underwater trail that allows visitors to explore the colorful coral reefs with ease, and is perfect for snorkeling and scuba diving. The park also features 18th-century plantation sites, such as the remains of Annaberg, blending natural and human history. Whether it's hiking through the rainforest along the trails or enjoying the sunshine in the tranquil bays, this place allows visitors to get away from the hustle and bustle and immerse themselves in the pure beauty of nature.
An important city in eastern Uganda, Soroti, located between the foothills of Mount Elgon and Lake Kyoga, is the administrative, commercial and agricultural center of the region. As a traditional settlement of the Iteso tribe, it retains a rich cultural heritage of traditional dances and crafts, and has a vibrant local market for agricultural products such as cotton, groundnuts and millet. Suam has a favorable climate and fertile land, and agriculture is the mainstay of the local economy, while animal husbandry also plays an important role.
