Vesanto is a small municipality in south-central Finland, located in the Pirkanmaa district, about 70 kilometers from Kuopio. With an area of about 400 square kilometers and a population of only about 2,000, the municipality is known for its peaceful lake and forest landscapes and traditional country life. Väisänto is situated in the heart of the Finnish Lake District, with numerous crystal-clear lakes, such as Lake Väisänto, suitable for outdoor activities such as fishing, boating and summer hiking. The economy is based on agriculture, forestry and small-scale tourism, and the local culture retains the dialect and customs of the Savo region, with village festivals held each summer.
