Velika Polana is a small settlement and administrative center of the municipality of the same name in southeastern Slovenia, located in the Pomur Statistical Region. The area is close to the Croatian border and is characterized by its flat farmland and peaceful rural landscape. With an area of about 18.7 square kilometers and a population of about 1,400, Velika Polana is a typical Slovenian rural community.
Velika Polana is situated on the eastern edge of the Pannonian Plain, with flat terrain and fertile soil suitable for agriculture. The climate is continental, with warm summers and cold winters. The local economy is based on agriculture, mainly growing crops such as corn and wheat, while animal husbandry is also more developed.
Velika Polana retains a traditional Slovenian rural culture, with Slovenian being the majority of the residents' native language. The community lives a peaceful life with basic public facilities such as schools, churches and stores. The local church, St. Anna's Church, is an important historical building that reflects the religious traditions of the region. The surrounding nature of Velika Polana is beautiful for hiking and cycling, making it an ideal place to experience the slow life of the Slovenian countryside.
São Tomé and Príncipe is an island country in west-central Africa, consisting of the islands of São Tomé and Príncipe and the surrounding islets, with the capital, São Tomé, located in the northeastern part of São Tomé. Located on the Gulf of Guinea, about 200 kilometers from the African continent, the country was colonized by Portugal in the 15th century and became independent in 1975, with Portuguese as the official language and an economy based on agriculture (cocoa, palm oil) and tourism. It should be noted that "Java" is not a city or region of the country; Java is the main island of Indonesia, with cities such as Jakarta and Surabaya, and has nothing to do with São Tomé and Príncipe, possibly due to a confusion of names.
