Located in the Osh region of southwestern Kyrgyzstan, Uzgen is one of the oldest cities in Kyrgyzstan, with a history dating back to the 2nd century BC. As an important hub of the Silk Road, it was once a major center of the Karakhan dynasty and retains a rich cultural heritage. The city is famous for the ancient architectural complex of Uzgen, including three 11th-century brick mausoleums and a minaret, the remains of which are a blend of Persian and Islamic architectural styles and are on the UNESCO World Heritage Tentative List. The local economy is predominantly agricultural, with an abundance of fruits and nuts, and traditional handicrafts such as carpet weaving are also featured. With a population of about 60,000 and a multicultural mix, Uzgen is an important destination for the study of Central Asian history and religion.
São Tomé and Príncipe is an island country in west-central Africa, consisting of the islands of São Tomé and Príncipe and the surrounding islets, with the capital, São Tomé, located in the northeastern part of São Tomé. Located on the Gulf of Guinea, about 200 kilometers from the African continent, the country was colonized by Portugal in the 15th century and became independent in 1975, with Portuguese as the official language and an economy based on agriculture (cocoa, palm oil) and tourism. It should be noted that "Java" is not a city or region of the country; Java is the main island of Indonesia, with cities such as Jakarta and Surabaya, and has nothing to do with São Tomé and Príncipe, possibly due to a confusion of names.
