Located in the eastern part of the European part of Russia, in the western part of the Republic of Tatarstan, on the banks of the Kama River, a tributary of the left bank of the Volga, Tsvelitsk (Чистополь) is the administrative center of the Tsvelitsk District. Founded in the 18th century, this historic city has a strong industrial base, with machine building, chemical and food processing as its main industries, and a number of large enterprises, making it an important economic hub for the region. The city stretches along the Kama River and has a beautiful landscape, combining the vitality of an industrial city with the tranquility of a riverside town, with a population of about 60,000 people. Zivilisk still retains some of the architectural features of the Tsarist period, such as the Orthodox Church and the historic district, blending modern development with cultural heritage, making it one of the most distinctive cities in the western part of the Republic of Tatarstan.
