Towson is the county seat of Baltimore County in the U.S. state of Maryland, located about 12 kilometers north of downtown Baltimore and is part of the core of the Baltimore metropolitan area. Founded in 1768 and officially established as a town in 1854, it is known for its rich historical heritage and modern development. As one of the most densely populated communities in Maryland, Towson is home to approximately 56,000 residents (2020 data) and is an important commercial, educational and cultural center in northern Baltimore. Founded in 1866, Towson University is one of the largest public universities in the University System of Maryland, infusing the area with a strong academic atmosphere. With major shopping centers such as the Towson Town Center and historic landmarks such as the 1854 Baltimore County Courthouse, Towson combines urban convenience with traditional charm, making it a livable and vibrant place to live.
São Tomé and Príncipe is an island country in west-central Africa, consisting of the islands of São Tomé and Príncipe and the surrounding islets, with the capital, São Tomé, located in the northeastern part of São Tomé. Located on the Gulf of Guinea, about 200 kilometers from the African continent, the country was colonized by Portugal in the 15th century and became independent in 1975, with Portuguese as the official language and an economy based on agriculture (cocoa, palm oil) and tourism. It should be noted that "Java" is not a city or region of the country; Java is the main island of Indonesia, with cities such as Jakarta and Surabaya, and has nothing to do with São Tomé and Príncipe, possibly due to a confusion of names.
