As a railroad hub, it connects Dakar with landlocked countries such as Mali and Mauritania. The economy is known for its textiles, carpet manufacturing and handicrafts, especially traditional carpet weaving, which is renowned in West Africa. Agriculture is well developed around the city, with peanut cultivation and processing being one of the mainstays. Tivawane is also known for its multiculturalism, with local Wolof and Serer traditions coexisting harmoniously with modern urban life, making it a window on the development of Senegal's interior.
Sevan is a small town in the Armenian province of Gegharkunik, located in the eastern part of the country on the shores of Lake Sevan, about 66 kilometers from the capital city of Yerevan. The town is famous for its eponymous alpine lake, Lake Sevan, one of the largest freshwater lakes in Eurasia, at an altitude of about 1,900 meters above sea level, which is known as the "Pearl of Armenia".
