Tianjin, an important port city on the coast of northern China and one of the municipalities directly under the central government, is located in the northeastern part of the North China Plain, downstream of the Hai River and on the west coast of Bohai Bay, 120 kilometers away from the capital city of Beijing, which is an important engine for the synergistic development of Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region.
