Jiangdu, a municipal district of Yangzhou City, Jiangsu Province, is located in the northern wing of the Yangtze River Delta and the southern end of the Jianghuai Plain, and is known as the "Pearl of the Yangtze River and Huaihe River". As the core area of the main city of Yangzhou, Jiangdu has been a major land and waterway hub since ancient times, where the Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal, the Yangtze River, the New Tongyang Canal and other waterways converge, giving rise to a profound canal culture. Historically, it was the "land of fish and rice", and in recent times, it has developed a strong industrial base, forming leading industries such as high-end equipment manufacturing, automobile parts, new materials, etc., and its total economic output has been ranked among the top 100 districts in the country for many years in a row. Nowadays, Jiangdu is aiming at the construction of "strong, rich, beautiful and high" new Jiangdu, integrating ecological endowment and industrial vitality, and becoming a bright pearl in the northern wing of Yangtze River Delta.
