Tehran is the capital and largest city of the Islamic Republic of Iran, located in the northern part of the country in the southern foothills of the Elburz Mountains at an altitude of about 1,200 meters above sea level. As a political, economic and cultural center, Tehran has a population of more than 8 million and is one of the major metropolitan areas in the Middle East.
Tehran became the capital of Persia at the end of the 18th century and retains a wealth of historical monuments such as the Gulestan Palace and the Freedom Memorial Tower. The city blends traditional Persian culture with modern developments, with museums, bazaars (traditional markets) and mosques showcasing its diverse face.
The city is Iran's industrial, financial and transportation hub, known for its petrochemical and textile industries. Tehran's metro system is one of the busiest in the Middle East, but traffic congestion and air pollution remain challenges. Residents are mostly native speakers of Persian, and Islamic customs deeply influence daily life.
The surrounding Elburz Mountains offer skiing and hiking resources, and Damavand Peak is the highest volcano in Asia. Tourists often visit the Museum of Treasures and the Palace of Saad Abad to experience the glorious history of the Persian Empire.
Tancheng County is located in the southeastern part of Shandong Province, China, under Linyi City, at the junction of Lu and Su, the southern gate of Shandong Province. It has a total area of 1,195 square kilometers and a population of about 900,000 people. Tancheng has a long history and is the seat of the ancient state of Tancheng, one of the important birthplaces of Confucian culture, famous for the story of "Confucius taught Tancheng".
Tancheng is located in the Yishu River alluvial plain, rich in agricultural resources, is China's famous "hometown of the ginkgo" and "willow township", ginkgo planting area and production ranks first in the country. Industry is dominated by chemical industry, machinery manufacturing and food processing, and willow crafts are exported overseas.
There are historical relics such as the ancient city ruins of Tancheng, Xiaowu Mound and Yu Cemetery, as well as natural landscapes such as the Chinese Ginkgo Ecological Tourism Zone. The traditional willow weaving technique is listed in the national intangible cultural heritage, and the Ginkgo Festival held every year attracts a large number of tourists.
Beijing-Shanghai Expressway and National Highway 205 run through the whole territory, and it is about 50 kilometers away from Linyi Airport, with convenient transportation. In recent years, it has been actively developing modern agriculture and rural tourism, creating the brand of "the hometown of ginkgo in Qilu", and promoting the high-quality development of the county's economy.
