Located south of Dili, the capital of Timor-Leste, Mount Tatamailau is the highest peak in Timor-Leste, rising to an altitude of about 2,986 meters. The mountain is part of the Rameirau mountain range and is known for its rugged terrain and rich biodiversity, making it a popular destination for trekking and eco-tourism. Covered with tropical rainforests, Mount Tatamailau inhabits a wide range of endemic flora and fauna such as the Timor deer and rare birds.
