Brunei Sukang is not a separate country or city, but an important administrative division of Brunei Darussalam (Brunei for short) - the Sukang District (Sukang). Brunei is a monarchy located in the northern part of the island of Borneo in Southeast Asia, bordered by the South China Sea to the north and the Malaysian state of Sarawak. Located in the Temburong District in the interior of Brunei, Sukang is one of the country's more remote and rural areas, known for its pristine rainforests, biodiversity and eco-tourism.
Sparsely populated, with a focus on traditional agriculture and nature conservation, Sukang District is rich in wildlife and is an important part of Brunei's national parks and nature reserves. Visitors can experience activities such as rainforest trekking, bird watching and river safaris. Brunei as a whole is dominated by an oil and gas economy, political stability and a strong Islamic culture, with the capital city of Bandar Seri Begawan. As an inland area, Sukang showcases Brunei's natural ecological side and is a key location for exploring the country's pristine landscape.
Located in Knox County, Maine in the northeastern United States, Appleton is a small rural community with a population of about 1,300. Founded in 1829 and named after early settler Samuel Appleton, the town's history is closely tied to the development of agriculture and forestry.
Located in a hilly area, Appleton is surrounded by forests, streams, and farmland, and has a typical rural Maine landscape. The town covers an area of about 92 square kilometers and has a climate with four distinct seasons, attracting visitors with the brilliant colors of the maple leaves in the fall. Major waters include Appleton Brook and surrounding lakes, which are suitable for fishing, boating and other recreational activities.
The economy is primarily agricultural, with blueberries, apples and maple syrup, and local farms are often open for picking experiences. Residents live at a leisurely pace, and community events such as annual fairs and holiday celebrations reflect a strong neighborhood culture. The town is located about 20 minutes from the coastal city of Camden, making it easy for residents to access city services while enjoying the tranquility of the countryside.
Visitors can explore Appleton's multiple hiking trails, such as the Appleton Mountain Trail, or visit historic stone walls and farmhouses. Ski resorts and hunting areas are also nearby for outdoor enthusiasts. There is no busy commercial area, but it is an ideal place to get away from the hustle and bustle with its unspoiled nature.
