Songpan County is located in the northeastern part of Aba Tibetan and Qiang Autonomous Prefecture in Sichuan Province, at the junction of Sichuan, Gan, and three provinces, and is the transition zone from the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau to the Sichuan Basin, which is known as the "Gateway to Northwest Sichuan". This ancient city since the Western Han Dynasty county, the ancient name of Songzhou, is an important hub on the Tea and Horse Road, the existing intact Ming Dynasty ancient city wall witnessed a thousand years of history. Songpan has Huanglong, Minjiang River source, Xuebodeng and other natural wonders, Huanglong Calcification Pool color pools, snow-covered mountains, canyons, known as the "earthly yaochi".
