Hilo, the capital of the Big Island of Hawaii in the U.S. state of Hawaii, is a tropical coastal city surrounded by the Pacific Ocean on the island's east coast. As the "Windy City", Hilo is nourished by the trade winds all year round and enjoys a warm and humid climate with an average annual temperature of about 24°C, abundant rainfall and lush vegetation.
