Sinpo is the capital and economic center of South Hamgyong Province in North Korea, and is located on the coast of the Sea of Japan in the eastern part of the country, making it an important port city. As the political and cultural hub of South Hamgyong Province, Sinpo is blessed with marine resources, and fishing and shipbuilding are its pillar industries, while machinery manufacturing, non-ferrous metal smelting and other industries are also more developed.
