Siming District is located in Xiamen, Fujian Province, China, and is the center of Xiamen's urban area and the core economic and cultural district. The name of the district is derived from "Siming Zhou", the memorial site of the national hero Zheng Chenggong, which means "remembering the Ming Dynasty". With a total area of about 84 square kilometers, Siming District is densely populated and highly urbanized, and is known for its thriving commerce, long history and beautiful seaside environment.
The district is home to several famous attractions, such as Gulangyu Island (a World Heritage Site), Zhongshan Road Pedestrian Street, Nanputuo Temple and Xiamen University, which attract a large number of tourists. Economically, Siming District is one of the most developed districts in Xiamen, led by service, finance, tourism and high-tech industries. Erlin Township is located in the southwestern part of Changhua County, Taiwan Province of China, and is an important agricultural production area in the Changhua Plain.
