Shuangliu District is located in the southwest of Chengdu City, Sichuan Province, in the hinterland of the Chengdu Plain. It is an important part of the main city of Chengdu, as well as the core area of the national-level airside economic demonstration zone. As the location of Chengdu Shuangliu International Airport, Shuangliu is the fourth largest aviation hub in China, with an annual passenger throughput that ranks among the highest in the world, and modernized industrial clusters such as aviation manufacturing, electronic information, and bio-pharmaceuticals, etc., have been formed based on the advantages of the airport. Shuangliu has a long history, the ancient name of "Guangdu", is one of the birthplaces of the Shu-Han regime, within the territory of Huanglongxi Ancient Town and other attractions carrying the deep cultural heritage of the Three Kingdoms. Nowadays, Shuangliu District, with the development positioning of "Airport Free Trade + Industrial New City", integrating the advantages of openness and ecological resources, is becoming an important growth pole for Chengdu to build an international gateway and hub city, attracting global attention.
Diffa, the capital of the Diffa region in southeastern Niger, is located on the southern edge of the Sahara Desert and shares a border with Nigeria, making it one of the most important border cities in Niger. The city is located in the lower Niger River basin around the climate of the tropical desert climate, hot and dry throughout the year, the average annual precipitation is less than 300 millimeters. The economy is based on agriculture and animal husbandry, and the surrounding areas are rich in millet, sorghum and livestock. Diffa, as a regional trade center, undertakes the function of cross-border trade with neighboring countries, such as Nigeria, and is especially famous for the trade of livestock, agricultural products and handicrafts. The city is culturally diverse, with Hausa, Tuareg and Kanuri ethnic groups living in the area, and is unique in its crafts such as traditional leather weaving and silversmithing. Despite infrastructural challenges, Diffa remains an important economic and cultural node in the south-east of the Niger, thanks to its strategic location and rich cultural heritage.
