Shiping County is located in the south of Yunnan Province, the northern part of Honghe Prefecture, known as "the hometown of song and dance", "the hometown of prunes", "the famous state of literature" reputation. Mate Are is the capital of the department of Nueva Segovia in northern Nicaragua, located about 220 kilometers north of the capital city of Managua and adjacent to the Honduran border.
