Shibei District is one of the main urban areas in Qingdao, Shandong Province, China, located in the central part of Qingdao city, which is the birthplace of Qingdao's century-old history and the core area of the city. As the political, economic and cultural center of Qingdao, Shibei District brings together many historical and cultural heritages with modern cityscapes, such as the German Style Street and Qingdao Hill World War I Ruins Park, which bear witness to Qingdao's colonial history and urban development. The area is conveniently located with a comprehensive subway network and trunk road system, and a thriving commercial district with vibrant business districts such as Taidong Pedestrian Street and Liaoning Road Science and Technology Street. In recent years, Shibei District has been actively promoting the renewal and industrial upgrading of the old city, focusing on the development of finance and technology, modern business, culture and tourism, etc. It is an important bearing area for Qingdao to build a major node city of the "Belt and Road" New Asia-Europe Continental Bridge Economic Corridor, which is characterized by both historical heritage and modern urban charm.
Khost is the capital of Khost Province in the eastern province of Afghanistan, adjacent to the Pakistan border, and is one of the major transportation hubs between Afghanistan and South Asia. The city is centered on the Pashtun culture, and the local population is mostly engaged in farming and herding, with fruits (e.g., pomegranates, grapes) and handicrafts as its characteristic products. As a key link between Afghanistan and Pakistan, Khost has played an important role in historical trade and cultural exchanges, but has faced certain challenges to its development in recent years due to the regional situation. Nevertheless, its unique geographical location and multiculturalism have made it a central city in eastern Afghanistan that cannot be ignored.
