Shenhe District is the core urban area of Shenyang City, Liaoning Province, China, located in the central area of Shenyang City and is the political, cultural and commercial center of the city. As the location of the Shenyang Imperial Palace, the district has a rich historical and cultural heritage, including the Shenyang Imperial Palace, which was inscribed on the World Heritage List as the imperial palace of the early Qing Dynasty.
Shenhe District has a total area of about 58 square kilometers and a resident population of about 700,000 people. Under the jurisdiction of 15 street offices, it is one of the smallest but most densely populated urban areas in Shenyang. The area is easily accessible by public transportation, with Metro Lines 1 and 2 running through the entire area.
Shenhe District is an important financial center in Northeast China, with the Shenyang Financial and Commercial Development Zone.
