Shatian Town is a town under the jurisdiction of Dongguan City, Guangdong Province, China, located in the southwestern part of Dongguan City, on the east bank of the Pearl River Estuary, downstream of the south tributary of the Dongjiang River, and adjacent to the Nansha District of Guangzhou, which is Dongguan's southward gateway to the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. As the core component of Dongguan Port, Shatian has a national class 1 port - Dongguan Port Shatian Port Area, with container throughput ranking among the top in the country, and is an important logistics hub and port industry base in South China. Relying on the advantages of the port, it has formed an industrial system dominated by modern logistics, high-end equipment manufacturing, paper making and petrochemicals.
