Shaodong City is located in the east-central part of Hunan Province, China, and is a county-level city under the administration of Shaoyang City, located in the hinterland of central Hunan. It has a total area of 1,778 square kilometers and a resident population of about 900,000 people. As a national important commodity distribution center and a strong industrial county, Shaodong is known as the "City of Commerce", the "Capital of Bags" and the "Hometown of Lighters".
