Shanwei is located in the southeastern coast of Guangdong Province, in the transition zone between the Pearl River Delta and the eastern coast of Guangdong, neighboring Shantou in the east, Huizhou in the west, and bordering the South China Sea in the south, and is an important node of Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area radiating from the eastern part of Guangdong, with a 302-kilometer-long coastline, which is known as the "golden coast of the eastern part of Guangdong". Under the jurisdiction of the urban area, Haifeng County, Lufeng City, Luhe County and Honghai Bay Development Zone, Overseas Chinese Management Zone, Haifeng County is one of the 13 key old red revolutionary areas in the country, where Peng Pei's former residence is located, and it is the cradle of China's peasants' movement.
