Shangshui County is located in the southeastern part of Henan Province, west of Zhoukou City, in the hinterland of the East Henan Plain, with the Shaying River passing through the territory, adjacent to Zhoukou city center, which is an important node connecting the eastern part of Henan Province with the northern part of Anhui Province. It has a long history and is one of the important birthplaces of Chenchu culture. Within its territory, there are historical relics such as Shou Sheng Temple Pagoda (an ancient pagoda of the Song Dynasty) and Ye's Manor (a residential complex of the Central Plains in the Qing Dynasty), which have a deep cultural heritage. As an advanced county in national grain production, Shangshui produces wheat, corn, soybeans and other crops, and is an important base for commercial grain and high-quality agricultural products in Henan Province.
