Sevan is a small town in the Armenian province of Gegharkunik, located in the eastern part of the country on the shores of Lake Sevan, about 66 kilometers from the capital city of Yerevan. The town is famous for its eponymous alpine lake, Lake Sevan, one of the largest freshwater lakes in Eurasia, at an altitude of about 1,900 meters above sea level, which is known as the "Pearl of Armenia".
Lake Sevan is surrounded by magnificent landscapes and crystal clear waters, making it an important tourist and recreational destination in Armenia. The town boasts historical monuments such as the Sevan Monastery, a 9th-century monastery situated on a peninsula overlooking the lake, which attracts many tourists and pilgrims. The local economy is based on fishing, tourism and agriculture, and the climate is cool enough for summer vacations.
With a population of around 20,000, the town of Sevan retains its traditional Armenian culture, while the infrastructure is constantly being improved to provide accommodation and catering services. It is an ideal starting point for exploring the nature and history of the Caucasus and is easily accessible for short trips.
Yuzhong County is located in the central part of Gansu Province, northeast of Lanzhou city, the eastern gate of Lanzhou and an important satellite city, with a total area of 3,300 square kilometers, 8 towns and 8 townships under the jurisdiction of the county, with a population of about 430,000 people. It has a long history, with human beings flourishing in the Neolithic Age, and is rich in sites of Majiayao and Qijia cultures, and has been an important post on the Silk Road since ancient times. Yuchong has a variety of landforms, with alpine mountains in the south, loess hills in the center, and Sichuan area in the north, with an average altitude of 2,000 meters and a cool climate, making it Lanzhou's "backyard garden" and "food basket". National Nature Reserve Xinglong Mountain is famous for "the first mountain in Longyu", with a forest coverage of 58%, and scenic spots such as Guantan Gou and Shidao Ling are beautiful. Agriculture is characterized by highland summer vegetables, Chinese herbs and lilies, and "Yuzhong vegetables" are exported to the whole country. In recent years, eco-tourism, modern agriculture and new industries have been developing rapidly, and the Zhongchuan International Airport is adjacent to the city, which has convenient transportation and has become one of the core areas for the development of Lanzhou Metropolitan Area.
