Sevan is a small town in the Armenian province of Gegharkunik, located in the eastern part of the country on the shores of Lake Sevan, about 66 kilometers from the capital city of Yerevan. The town is famous for its eponymous alpine lake, Lake Sevan, one of the largest freshwater lakes in Eurasia, at an altitude of about 1,900 meters above sea level, which is known as the "Pearl of Armenia".
Lake Sevan is surrounded by magnificent landscapes and crystal clear waters, making it an important tourist and recreational destination in Armenia. The town boasts historical monuments such as the Sevan Monastery, a 9th-century monastery situated on a peninsula overlooking the lake, which attracts many tourists and pilgrims. The local economy is based on fishing, tourism and agriculture, and the climate is cool enough for summer vacations.
With a population of around 20,000, the town of Sevan retains its traditional Armenian culture, while the infrastructure is constantly being improved to provide accommodation and catering services. It is an ideal starting point for exploring the nature and history of the Caucasus and is easily accessible for short trips.
Xiping County is located in the south-central part of Henan Province, China, belonging to Zhumadian City and situated in the Yellow-Huai Plain, with a total area of about 1,089 square kilometers. It is one of the important birthplaces of Chinese civilization and has a deep historical heritage of Rayon culture and iron smelting culture.
Xiping is the hometown of the Yellow Emperor's first concubine, Rayon, and is known as the "Hometown of China's Rayon Culture", with the Rayon Festival held every year. The Korean Iron Smelting Ruins (a national cultural heritage unit) from the Warring States period witnesses the achievements of ancient Chinese metallurgy. There are also many historical relics such as the Baoyan Temple Pagoda and the iron smelting site of the hotel.
Xiping is based on agriculture, producing wheat, corn and other grain crops, and is an important grain production base in Henan Province. Industry has formed pillar industries such as machinery manufacturing, textile and garment, food processing, etc. It is especially famous for livestock equipment and garment processing.
Xiping has convenient transportation, with the Beijing-Guangzhou Railway and the Beijing-Hong Kong-Macao Expressway passing through its territory, and is about 150 kilometers away from Zhengzhou Xinzheng International Airport. The construction of the county is changing day by day, with ecological landscapes such as Honghe Park and Tangxiyuan Scenic Area, and has been awarded the honorary titles of National Sanitary County City and Provincial Garden City.
