Sevan is a small town in the Armenian province of Gegharkunik, located in the eastern part of the country on the shores of Lake Sevan, about 66 kilometers from the capital city of Yerevan. The town is famous for its eponymous alpine lake, Lake Sevan, one of the largest freshwater lakes in Eurasia, at an altitude of about 1,900 meters above sea level, which is known as the "Pearl of Armenia".
Lake Sevan is surrounded by magnificent landscapes and crystal clear waters, making it an important tourist and recreational destination in Armenia. The town boasts historical monuments such as the Sevan Monastery, a 9th-century monastery situated on a peninsula overlooking the lake, which attracts many tourists and pilgrims. The local economy is based on fishing, tourism and agriculture, and the climate is cool enough for summer vacations.
With a population of around 20,000, the town of Sevan retains its traditional Armenian culture, while the infrastructure is constantly being improved to provide accommodation and catering services. It is an ideal starting point for exploring the nature and history of the Caucasus and is easily accessible for short trips.
Shanwei is located in the southeastern coast of Guangdong Province, in the transition zone between the Pearl River Delta and the eastern coast of Guangdong, neighboring Shantou in the east, Huizhou in the west, and bordering the South China Sea in the south, and is an important node of Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area radiating from the eastern part of Guangdong, with a 302-kilometer-long coastline, which is known as the "golden coast of the eastern part of Guangdong". Under the jurisdiction of the urban area, Haifeng County, Lufeng City, Luhe County and Honghai Bay Development Zone, Overseas Chinese Management Zone, Haifeng County is one of the 13 key old red revolutionary areas in the country, where Peng Pei's former residence is located, and it is the cradle of China's peasants' movement. Shanwei is a combination of mountains, sea, springs, islands and lakes. The strange reefs and rocks of Chalang Peninsula in Honghai Bay, the culture of Mashin in Fengshan Ancestral Temple, the scenic clouds and sea in Lianhuashan Mountain, and the fishing port in Shanwei Harbor attract visitors from all directions. With rich fishery resources, specialty seafood such as lobster and grouper are well known in Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao. Meanwhile, new industries such as electronic information and new energy are booming, making it an emerging city with a blend of red heritage, coastal flavor and modern vitality.
