Henan Mountain Cities are not independent cities, but refer to regions or counties in Henan Province that are characterized by mountainous terrain, such as Lushan County and Song County. Located in central China, Henan Province has a long history and is an important birthplace of Chinese civilization. Mountain towns and regions are usually characterized by natural landscapes, ecotourism and agriculture, and are rich in cultural heritage and natural resources. For example, Lushan County is famous for its Yao Mountain Scenic Area, while Song County is closely associated with the culture of the Shaolin Temple.
