Sevan is a small town in the Armenian province of Gegharkunik, located in the eastern part of the country on the shores of Lake Sevan, about 66 kilometers from the capital city of Yerevan. The town is famous for its eponymous alpine lake, Lake Sevan, one of the largest freshwater lakes in Eurasia, at an altitude of about 1,900 meters above sea level, which is known as the "Pearl of Armenia".
Lake Sevan is surrounded by magnificent landscapes and crystal clear waters, making it an important tourist and recreational destination in Armenia. The town boasts historical monuments such as the Sevan Monastery, a 9th-century monastery situated on a peninsula overlooking the lake, which attracts many tourists and pilgrims. The local economy is based on fishing, tourism and agriculture, and the climate is cool enough for summer vacations.
With a population of around 20,000, the town of Sevan retains its traditional Armenian culture, while the infrastructure is constantly being improved to provide accommodation and catering services. It is an ideal starting point for exploring the nature and history of the Caucasus and is easily accessible for short trips.
Mengyin County is part of Linyi City, Shandong Province, China, located in the south-central part of Shandong Province in the hinterland of the Yimeng Mountainous Region. It has a total area of about 1,605 square kilometers and a population of about 500,000 people. It is the famous "Peach Hometown" in China, and its specialty, the peaches of Mengyin, are famous for their large size, sweet flavor and juiciness.
With a long history, Mengyin is an important part of the old revolutionary area of Yimeng. The famous Battle of Mengliangmu took place here, and now there is a Memorial Hall of the Battle of Mengliangmu and a Martyrs' Mausoleum, which has become an important base for red tourism and patriotism education. The local traditional culture is rich, and Yimeng Mountain ditties and other folk arts are unique.
The economy of Mengyin is based on agriculture, with peach cultivation being the pillar industry, while tourism and ecological agriculture are being developed. There are natural landscapes such as the Dai mesa landform and Yunmeng Lake, as well as humanistic attractions such as Zhongshan Temple and Liu Hong Cultural Park. In recent years, Mengyin has been actively promoting rural revitalization and eco-tourism, creating a tourism brand of "mesa world, paradise".
