Sevan is a small town in the Armenian province of Gegharkunik, located in the eastern part of the country on the shores of Lake Sevan, about 66 kilometers from the capital city of Yerevan. The town is famous for its eponymous alpine lake, Lake Sevan, one of the largest freshwater lakes in Eurasia, at an altitude of about 1,900 meters above sea level, which is known as the "Pearl of Armenia".
Lake Sevan is surrounded by magnificent landscapes and crystal clear waters, making it an important tourist and recreational destination in Armenia. The town boasts historical monuments such as the Sevan Monastery, a 9th-century monastery situated on a peninsula overlooking the lake, which attracts many tourists and pilgrims. The local economy is based on fishing, tourism and agriculture, and the climate is cool enough for summer vacations.
With a population of around 20,000, the town of Sevan retains its traditional Armenian culture, while the infrastructure is constantly being improved to provide accommodation and catering services. It is an ideal starting point for exploring the nature and history of the Caucasus and is easily accessible for short trips.
Maanshan is a prefecture-level city under the jurisdiction of Anhui Province, located on the south bank of the lower reaches of the Yangtze River, adjacent to Nanjing, Jiangsu Province, and an important member of the Yangtze River Delta city cluster. It is named after the legend that the saddle of the war horse Xiang Yu, the king of Chu, fell to the ground and turned into a mountain when he killed himself on the Wujiang River. As an important iron and steel industrial base in China, Maanshan Iron and Steel Company Limited (Maanshan Iron and Steel) is famous all over the country, known as "Steel City".
Maanshan has a deep historical background, is the place where Li Bai died, Cai Shi Jiao scenic spot within the Taibai building was built to commemorate the immortal poet. The city contains natural landscapes such as Pu Tang Scenic Area and Yushan Lake Park, as well as cultural sites of the Three Kingdoms such as the Zhu Ran Family Cemetery. The Li Bai Poetry Festival held annually attracts a large number of culture lovers.
Maanshan is the core city of Nanjing Metropolitan Area, and actively integrates into the integrated development of Yangtze River Delta by virtue of its geographical advantage of being adjacent to Nanjing. In addition to the iron and steel industry, high-end equipment manufacturing, new energy vehicles and other emerging industries are developing rapidly. 2022 GDP exceeded 260 billion yuan, per capita GDP in the forefront of Anhui Province, has been awarded the title of National Civilized City, National Forest City and so on.
