Sevan is a small town in the Armenian province of Gegharkunik, located in the eastern part of the country on the shores of Lake Sevan, about 66 kilometers from the capital city of Yerevan. The town is famous for its eponymous alpine lake, Lake Sevan, one of the largest freshwater lakes in Eurasia, at an altitude of about 1,900 meters above sea level, which is known as the "Pearl of Armenia".
Lake Sevan is surrounded by magnificent landscapes and crystal clear waters, making it an important tourist and recreational destination in Armenia. The town boasts historical monuments such as the Sevan Monastery, a 9th-century monastery situated on a peninsula overlooking the lake, which attracts many tourists and pilgrims. The local economy is based on fishing, tourism and agriculture, and the climate is cool enough for summer vacations.
With a population of around 20,000, the town of Sevan retains its traditional Armenian culture, while the infrastructure is constantly being improved to provide accommodation and catering services. It is an ideal starting point for exploring the nature and history of the Caucasus and is easily accessible for short trips.
Located in the northeastern part of Shandong Province, China, Laizhou City is a coastal county-level city under Yantai City. It is bordered by Zhaoyuan City in the east, Pingdu City in the south, Changyi City in the west and Laizhou Bay in the north, with 108 kilometers of coastline. The city has a total area of 1,928 square kilometers and a resident population of about 820,000 people.
Anciently known as Yecheng County, Laizhou is the "Stone Capital of China" and the "Hometown of China's Moon Season", and is famous for its Laizhou jade carvings and grass braid crafts. There are cultural sites such as Yunfeng Mountain Cliff Rock Carving and East Sea Temple, as well as important mineral resources such as Sanshan Island Gold Mine. The port of Laizhou is an important seaward channel for the Yellow River Delta region.
The economy of Laizhou is dominated by machinery manufacturing, gold mining, marine fishery and stone processing, and it is an important gold production base and sea salt production area in China. In recent years, it has been vigorously developing the new energy industry of offshore wind power, and there is a base of offshore wind power in Shandong Peninsula.
