Sevan is a small town in the Armenian province of Gegharkunik, located in the eastern part of the country on the shores of Lake Sevan, about 66 kilometers from the capital city of Yerevan. The town is famous for its eponymous alpine lake, Lake Sevan, one of the largest freshwater lakes in Eurasia, at an altitude of about 1,900 meters above sea level, which is known as the "Pearl of Armenia".
Lake Sevan is surrounded by magnificent landscapes and crystal clear waters, making it an important tourist and recreational destination in Armenia. The town boasts historical monuments such as the Sevan Monastery, a 9th-century monastery situated on a peninsula overlooking the lake, which attracts many tourists and pilgrims. The local economy is based on fishing, tourism and agriculture, and the climate is cool enough for summer vacations.
With a population of around 20,000, the town of Sevan retains its traditional Armenian culture, while the infrastructure is constantly being improved to provide accommodation and catering services. It is an ideal starting point for exploring the nature and history of the Caucasus and is easily accessible for short trips.
Jixian County is located in the northeastern part of Heilongjiang Province, China, under the jurisdiction of Shuangyashan City, and is situated in the hinterland of the Sanjiang Plain. It is rich in agricultural resources and is an important commercial grain base, famous for producing soybeans, corn and rice. The landscape is dominated by plains, with a temperate continental monsoon climate and four distinct seasons.
Jixian County has a total area of about 2,260 square kilometers and a population of about 300,000 people. It is rich in mineral resources, with large coal reserves, and its industry is mainly based on coal mining and processing of agricultural products. Transportation is convenient, with the Hatong Expressway running through the county and railroads connecting to major cities around the county.
The local area retains the traditional folk culture of the Northeast, and the characteristic diet includes Northeast stew and farmhouse flavors. Major attractions include the Qixingfeng National Forest Park and the Anbang River Wetland Nature Reserve, which are suitable for eco-tourism and outdoor exploration. The annual Agricultural Expo showcases the achievements of modern agriculture.
Jixian is promoting agricultural modernization and industrial upgrading, focusing on green food processing and new energy industries. As part of the old industrial base in Northeast China, it has been actively optimizing its economic structure and promoting sustainable development in recent years.
