Sevan is a small town in the Armenian province of Gegharkunik, located in the eastern part of the country on the shores of Lake Sevan, about 66 kilometers from the capital city of Yerevan. The town is famous for its eponymous alpine lake, Lake Sevan, one of the largest freshwater lakes in Eurasia, at an altitude of about 1,900 meters above sea level, which is known as the "Pearl of Armenia".
Lake Sevan is surrounded by magnificent landscapes and crystal clear waters, making it an important tourist and recreational destination in Armenia. The town boasts historical monuments such as the Sevan Monastery, a 9th-century monastery situated on a peninsula overlooking the lake, which attracts many tourists and pilgrims. The local economy is based on fishing, tourism and agriculture, and the climate is cool enough for summer vacations.
With a population of around 20,000, the town of Sevan retains its traditional Armenian culture, while the infrastructure is constantly being improved to provide accommodation and catering services. It is an ideal starting point for exploring the nature and history of the Caucasus and is easily accessible for short trips.
Huanai District is located in the northwest end of Kaohsiung City, Taiwan Province of China, north of Tainan County, with a total area of about 20.16 square kilometers. The area was formerly known as "Hu Nei Chuang", which was reorganized as Hu Nei Chuang in 1920 and changed to Hu Nei Township after 1945, and was upgraded to a municipal district with the merger of Kaohsiung County and City in 2010. The terrain is mainly plains, with the main river being Erren Creek. Agriculture and fisheries were once important industries, but are now gradually transforming into an industrial and commercial development area.
Huanai has convenient transportation, with important roads such as Taiwan 17 and Taiwan 28 running through the entire area, and is about a 30-minute drive from downtown Kaohsiung. Local attractions include the Xingda Harbor Tourist Fishing Market, Lover's Wharf, and the Ye Chu Class A Ancient House and other traditional cultural buildings. The area retains many temple cultures and traditional folk activities, as well as ecological reserves such as the Kajia Wetland, demonstrating the regional characteristics of the coexistence of humanity and nature.
