Sevan is a small town in the Armenian province of Gegharkunik, located in the eastern part of the country on the shores of Lake Sevan, about 66 kilometers from the capital city of Yerevan. The town is famous for its eponymous alpine lake, Lake Sevan, one of the largest freshwater lakes in Eurasia, at an altitude of about 1,900 meters above sea level, which is known as the "Pearl of Armenia".
Lake Sevan is surrounded by magnificent landscapes and crystal clear waters, making it an important tourist and recreational destination in Armenia. The town boasts historical monuments such as the Sevan Monastery, a 9th-century monastery situated on a peninsula overlooking the lake, which attracts many tourists and pilgrims. The local economy is based on fishing, tourism and agriculture, and the climate is cool enough for summer vacations.
With a population of around 20,000, the town of Sevan retains its traditional Armenian culture, while the infrastructure is constantly being improved to provide accommodation and catering services. It is an ideal starting point for exploring the nature and history of the Caucasus and is easily accessible for short trips.
Located in the southeastern part of Henan Province, China, Huaiyang is part of Zhoukou City and is one of the important birthplaces of Chinese civilization. It has a long history with more than 6,000 years of cultural deposits and is famous for its Fuxi culture and family name culture. Huaiyang is the capital and resting place of Taihao Fuxi, known as the "Pioneer of Huaxia and Sacred Site of the Nine States".
The main attractions include the Taihao Mausoleum Temple (National 4A Scenic Spot), which organizes a grand-scale temple fair from February 2 to March 3 of the lunar calendar every year, attracting millions of tourists. Longhu National Wetland Park is the largest city-ringed lake in the Central Plains, rich in ecological resources and suitable for leisure and sightseeing. Huaiyang is also the place of origin of ten major family names, such as Chen and Hu, and has a deep cultural heritage.
The local economy is mainly based on agriculture and tourism, with specialties such as Huaiyang yellow cauliflower and bushy cabbage. Transportation is convenient, with access to neighboring cities via high-speed and railroad networks. With its blend of history, culture and natural landscapes, Huaiyang is an important destination for exploring the civilization of the Central Plains.
