Sevan is a small town in the Armenian province of Gegharkunik, located in the eastern part of the country on the shores of Lake Sevan, about 66 kilometers from the capital city of Yerevan. The town is famous for its eponymous alpine lake, Lake Sevan, one of the largest freshwater lakes in Eurasia, at an altitude of about 1,900 meters above sea level, which is known as the "Pearl of Armenia".
Lake Sevan is surrounded by magnificent landscapes and crystal clear waters, making it an important tourist and recreational destination in Armenia. The town boasts historical monuments such as the Sevan Monastery, a 9th-century monastery situated on a peninsula overlooking the lake, which attracts many tourists and pilgrims. The local economy is based on fishing, tourism and agriculture, and the climate is cool enough for summer vacations.
With a population of around 20,000, the town of Sevan retains its traditional Armenian culture, while the infrastructure is constantly being improved to provide accommodation and catering services. It is an ideal starting point for exploring the nature and history of the Caucasus and is easily accessible for short trips.
Guangping County is located in the southern part of Hebei Province, China, under the jurisdiction of Handan City, and is situated in the hinterland of the North China Plain. It has a total area of 320 square kilometers and a population of about 300,000 people. As an important county in the south of Hebei, Guangping has a long history, having been founded as early as the Warring States period, and has a rich cultural heritage and traditional folklore.
The economy of Guangping County is based on agriculture, producing wheat, corn, cotton and other crops, while vigorously developing vegetable cultivation and animal husbandry. Industry is dominated by equipment manufacturing, textiles and garments, and food processing, and in recent years it has been actively cultivating new industries such as new energy and new materials. The county has convenient transportation, with Qinglan Expressway and National Highway 309 passing through the county, and Handan Airport is only 50 kilometers away.
Guangping has many historical sites and cultural attractions, such as the Temple of Literature in the Ming Dynasty and the Qingliang Temple in the Tang Dynasty. The local intangible cultural heritage programs "Guangping Layang Piece" and "Plum Blossom Fist" are listed in the provincial intangible cultural heritage protection list. Every year, the Guangping Traditional Temple Fair on March 28 of the lunar calendar attracts a large number of tourists from the surrounding area, showing the charm of local folklore.
