Sevan is a small town in the Armenian province of Gegharkunik, located in the eastern part of the country on the shores of Lake Sevan, about 66 kilometers from the capital city of Yerevan. The town is famous for its eponymous alpine lake, Lake Sevan, one of the largest freshwater lakes in Eurasia, at an altitude of about 1,900 meters above sea level, which is known as the "Pearl of Armenia".
Lake Sevan is surrounded by magnificent landscapes and crystal clear waters, making it an important tourist and recreational destination in Armenia. The town boasts historical monuments such as the Sevan Monastery, a 9th-century monastery situated on a peninsula overlooking the lake, which attracts many tourists and pilgrims. The local economy is based on fishing, tourism and agriculture, and the climate is cool enough for summer vacations.
With a population of around 20,000, the town of Sevan retains its traditional Armenian culture, while the infrastructure is constantly being improved to provide accommodation and catering services. It is an ideal starting point for exploring the nature and history of the Caucasus and is easily accessible for short trips.
Boro County belongs to Huizhou City of Guangdong Province, located in the northeast of the Pearl River Delta and the middle and lower reaches of the Dongjiang River, bordered by Heyuan in the north, Dongguan and Shenzhen in the south, neighboring Guangzhou in the west and Huicheng District in the east, and it is an important node city in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. It has a history of more than 2,200 years since it was established in the Qin Dynasty, and is one of the four ancient counties in Guangdong, with a profound cultural heritage. Luofu Mountain is the "first mountain in Lingnan", a national scenic spot, the seventh cave in Taoism, and Ge Hong's alchemy remains today, attracting many tourists. Boro is a Hakka cultural colony, Hakka houses, spring bull dance and other non-heritage culture is unique. Economically, electronic information, new materials and modern agriculture are the leading industries, and the agricultural products "Crispy Mash Vegetables" and "Yangcun Mandarin Oranges" are famous far and wide. With its landscape and humanities, the city is both ecologically and historically beautiful, making it an ideal place to live and visit in the south of the Yangtze River.
