Located in the northwest of Yilan County, Taiwan, China, Sanshing is a famous hot spring township and leisure agriculture demonstration area. Located at the junction of the Lanyang Plain and the Xueshan Mountain Range, the area is famous throughout Taiwan for its Sanshing green onions, Shanggong pears and Yinliu agricultural products. The local area boasts natural landscapes such as the Anong Creek Flood Dividing Weir Scenic Area and Changpi Lake, while retaining a strong tradition of Atayal culture. The annual Onion Pancake Festival and Silver Willow Festival attract a large number of tourists, making it an important agricultural tourism destination in the Yilan area.
Sanshing Township is bordered by Luodong Township to the east and Datong Township to the west, and is named after the confluence of three major tributaries of the upper reaches of the Lanyang River. The local hot springs are rich in resources and the water quality is sodium bicarbonate spring, and the neighboring lodges and hot spring clubs form a complete leisure industry chain. The Anong Creek watershed offers canoeing activities, while the Tianshepi Railway Cultural Park preserves the remains of the forestry railroad from the Japanese rule period, showcasing a unique historical and humanistic landscape.
Same, the capital of Timor-Leste's Ainaro District, is located about 50 kilometers south of the capital, Dili, in the mountainous interior and is an important agricultural and transportation hub for the country. It is known for its coffee farming, surrounded by terraced fields that produce Timor-Leste's premium Arabica coffee beans. Historically, Samu was an important stronghold during Timor-Leste's War of Independence, and remnants of the resistance movement still remain in the area, attracting history buffs to explore. The surrounding area is rich in natural beauty and close to Mount Ramelau, Timor-Leste's highest peak, making it a stopover for hiking enthusiasts. A blend of traditional Timacu culture and modern townscape, Samu offers a unique look at the interior of Timor-Leste.
