Sanxia District in New Taipei City, Taiwan, is located in the southwest of the Taipei metropolitan area, and is a representative town of the Greater Taipei area that combines historical heritage with the charm of a mountain town. The most prestigious Sanxia Old Street in the district has a well-preserved cluster of century-old Minnan-style riding buildings, and old businesses such as Grandma's Iron Eggs and Blue Dyeing Shop on Tiezhi Lane in the old street tell the story of the prosperity and marketplace atmosphere of the old days. Adjacent to the old street is the Three Gorges Ancestor Temple, built in the Qianlong period of the Qing Dynasty, which is a third-class monument in Taiwan. Inside the temple, the wood carvings, stone carvings and colorful paintings are superbly crafted, and the temple is known as the "Temple Hall of Art," which is a treasure of religious architecture in Taiwan. In addition, the refreshing scenery of the Hengxi Tea Plantation and the ecological beauty of the Dabaoshan Nature Reserve make the Three Gorges a sightseeing destination that combines history, culture, and landscape, and an excellent place to experience the traditional mountain town flavor of Taiwan.
